Coronavirus cleaning: Disinfecting the interior of your car

One of the most effective weapons against COVID-19 is soap. It doesn’t need to be antibacterial, pretty much any household soap will do the trick. Just be sure to avoid cleaners that are labeled as being free of detergents.

To disinfect the interior of your car, fill a bucket with warm water and add a few drops of liquid dish soap. Dip a microfibre cloth into the bucket and then wipe down all non-glass surfaces that are frequently touched. This includes the dashboard, steering wheel, console and door handles. Rinse the cloth frequently and repeat as required.

Afterwards, wipe down all surfaces with a clean cloth to ensure everything is dry.

Your car’s air quality also plays a big role in how you’ll feel while driving. If your AC and cabin filters are clogged, the circulation of air in your car may carry some pollutants. So it's timely to have your cabin filters replaced according to manufacturer recommendations.

If you think your cabin cabin filters need replacing, get in touch via the contact form on our website or by calling (03) 9859 1688.

Remember to wash your hands frequently and follow the latest medical advice from the Department of Health and the Department of Health & Human Services (VIC).

Take care!
